How does Whole Home Backup Work?
Solar panels first convert solar energy into DC power using what is known as the photovoltaic (PV) effect. The DC power can then be stored in a battery or converted by an inverter into AC power which can be used to run home appliances. The Fortress Power Envy True 12 inverter combined with Fortress Power Battery Storage can provide up to 12kW of backup power when the grid is down.
Already have Solar? Fortress Power Batteries can easily be added on to existing Solar PV Systems. Your existing solar panel array and inverter can charge Fortress Power batteries during the day, and you can use the energy when the power goes out, or at night.
